Committees
A number of committees have been formed to address particular operational issues or activities in the community. If you want detailed information on a particular committee, click on the committee name below to view the committee charter.
Homeowners interested in joining any committee should contact the committee chair or overseeing director listed below. Proposals for new committees should be presented to the Board of Directors.
| Common Areas Committee Director: Mike Powers The Common Areas Committee oversees the maintenance of all open space and common land owned by the Association. This includes monitoring the status of walking trail construction. |

| Community Relations Director: Joe Lange Community relations involves keeping in contact with Albemarle County and with developers of neighboring communities to gather information and represent our interests, and monitoring changes to local infrastructure such as roads.

Neighborhood Watch Committee Director: Jim McClain The Neighborhood Watch Committee is concerned with the safety and protection of all Fontana residents and their property, and serves as a liaison between the community and the County Police Department. The committee includes the following block captains: The Neighborhood Watch committee disseminates information from the Police Department, including a list of tips on car break-ins and a reference sheet on solicitors. | Nominating Committee The nominating committee is responsible for developing a list of qualified and interested candidates for the Board of Directors election. If you would like to help out, please contact the Committee Director. |

| Recreation Committee Directors: Robbie Drumheller and Xandy Johnson The Recreation Committee manages and maintains the clubhouse, swimming pool and tennis courts. Check the Recreation Facilities page for more information about these facilities. Homeowners who wish to rent the clubhouse for private functions should see the Clubhouse Rentals page. |

| Social Committee Directors: Karen Thomas and Mac Weems The Social Committee plans and runs community-wide social activities such as the annual summer barbeque, holiday party and ladies' night out. See the Upcoming Events section of the main page for some events that are being planned now. |

| Welcoming Committee Director: Tabitha Plecker The Welcoming Committee welcomes new homeowners to Fontana and collects information for the Fontana Directory, which is published twice a year by the Fontana treasurer. |
