Fontana Welcome Committee Charter
(January 2003)

The Welcoming Committee is a standing committee under the authority of the Fontana Owners' Association Incorporated (FOAI).

Purpose

The Welcoming Committee has been established by the Board of Directors of FOAI for the purposes of:

  1. Greeting and welcoming new homeowners and their families to Fontana.
  2. Collecting appropriate information for the Fontana Directory.
  3. Providing a Welcome Basket containing 2 food items (representing Virginia such as honey, Root 66 rootbeer, peanuts) and free literature on Charlottesville.
  4. Providing a copy of the Clubhouse and Pool Rules and Regulations and a key to the clubhouse in the Welcoming Basket.

Organization

The Welcoming Committee will consist of a least one Fontana homeowner appointed by the Board of FOAI who will be the chairperson of the committee. The chairperson can appoint or request the assistance of homeowners, as needed, to assist in the task of welcoming new homeowners or in the preparation of the Welcome Baskets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and submit a proposed annual budget for the Welcoming Committee for approval and administration.
  2. Obtain from Avalon Realty a list of newcomers as well as obtaining names of any newcomers as a results of resales in Fontana.
  3. Contact and make a visit within one month of the homeowners' move into Fontana.
  4. At the time of the visit inquire as to the homeowners' hobbies, interests, age of children and other pertinent information so we can introduce them to others in the neighborhood who may share similar interests.
  5. Enter homeowner information into a log book and have homeowner sign the same indicating they have received information on the Clubhouse and Pool Rules and Regulations and a key to the clubhouse.
  6. Submit information regarding names of homeowners and phone numbers to Treasurer for preparation of dues notice and to the individual responsible for the Fontana Homeowner Directory.
  7. Submit bills for reimbursement to Treasurer.
