Fontana Social Committee Charter

The Fontana Social Committee is a standing committee under the authority of the Fontana Owners Association Incorporated (FOAI).

Purpose

The Social Committee has been established by the Board of Directors of FOAI for the purpose of developing and sponsoring social activities for the enjoyment of Fontana residents.

Organization

The Social Committee will consist of:

A volunteer Fontana homeowner appointed by the FOAI Board of Directors to be the Committee Chairperson.
Committee members who are Fontana residents volunteering to participate in planning and executing social functions to build community and friendships among all Fontana residents.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Social Committee will prepare and submit a proposed annual budget each January for approval by the FOAI Board of Directors.

In planning functions, the Social Committee will coordinate with the Clubhouse Reservation/Events Manager in determining function dates.
The Social Committee will plan and execute two main activities each year:

The Fontana Annual BBQ during the summer
The Fontana Holiday Party in December

Social Committee members, under the direction of the Committee Chairperson, shall meet to plan, organize and assign responsibilities as each function arises.
The Social Committee will attempt to respond to homeowners' requests/interests for social activities (e.g. annual community garage sale, teen pizza/clubhouse decorating party, Ladies' Evening, special events).
The Social Committee Chairperson, with the assistance of committee members, will submit bills to the Treasurer for reimbursement.
The Social Committee Chairperson will provide a financial and activity report to the FOAI Board of Directors after each social function is completed to help ensure the budget is being carried out as planned.
The Social Committee Chairperson will provide an annual report to the FOAI Board of Directors prior to the Annual Meeting.
